A great ride it was, again paired up with RBC member Jerry V.;
No real issues except the wind...
The West winds were tiring, although the East bound segments of the ride were pleasant and invigorating. Riding with Jerry seems we're well matched with our recumbent capabilities...
Also well matched was the Lab/Retriever mix, who silently trotted alongside Jerry and me for a substantial distance. The young pup matched our pace for at least a mile. He made Jerry a bit nervous, worrying about the potential that he could meander in front of our bikes as he matched our pace. Jerry must have had some previous experience along that train of thought, for no sooner had he voiced the concern the pup did just that. Then I felt the apprehension of the near collision as the pup twice crossed the roadway, first just in front of me and then as I watched in my mirror the dog crossed the road in front of Jerry, too. Aside from those crossover occurrences the encounter was completely sublime.
This makes it 208 miles in 4 days of biking out of the past 5 days...
It gets me through a 600 mile month (my 1st this year).
I'm satisfied with my YTD cycling capability. The increase in physical activity along with a modest caloric reduction should pay dividends on the weight scale, soon.
