North wind continues to blow in cooler weather. Legs were feeling a little worn today so just did a short ride with one small climb. Headed up the valley to Millport before climbing out through Johnson Hollow. Thought I was keeping a good pace with a decent climb into the hollow. It's a short climb of a half mile long at about eight percent. I got over that section and looked at my average and was surprised how low it was. Must have really milked the first eight miles up the valley. Picked up the pace over the next four miles of gradual climbing with a couple of steps. Thought I might be able to get a sixteen with the final eight miles being either fast downhill or flat but did too much coasting. Actually had a chance at it but hit both lights red getting out of Watkins, Amazing how much time is lost off the average by even a short stop and go on a short ride. Still wasn't too disappointed as had a good pleasant ride on a sunny day without much wind. Legs felt better after the ride than before the start.
