Decent weather got me finally back on the bike but still under the weather. Headed out to Dundee then up Chubb Hollow. Based the course on another wind prediction that appears to be a bad habit of mine. Plan was to get a light tailwind out of the south for the first hour that would push me up the major climb followed by a shift to the west and finishing with a northern tailwind. Got the south wind at the start and used it to aid me up the climb out of Watkins on SR 14 & 14A to reading center. Didn't push the climb and it showed but think my climbing has exceeded the abysmal class and progressed to dismal. There was no way I would meet my normal goal of fifteen for the first hour and thanks to the climb was only able to top thirteen. Tailwind carried me down into Dundee and through the major construction. Wasn't pushing the pace but just trying to keep some pressure on the pedals. Tailwind also helped up Chubb Hollow that is a gradual climb with a decent step at the top of the hollow. Was thankful for the wind but also was clearly off the tailwind schedule. Did some work on the downgrade to Himrod and concentrated on getting the average up to fifteen before I started the final descent into Watkins. Was doing fairly well until getting back onto SR 14 at Glenora where the bottom fell out. Legs pretty much stopped putting out any power and ended up going into survival mode for the last five miles before the descent. Wasn't able to get to fifteen before the descent but was able to do some decent coasting over the mile and a half downhill to Watkins. Had a couple extra pips on the time but lost it getting through the lights in the village and a slow traverse of the swamp still in a headwind. Felt good for thirty-five miles while holding a moderate pace and only suffered a bit over the last ten. If I had gotten the north wind as predicted I probably could have had a decent ride. It wasn't a bad ride but still indicates things are not yet well with the body.
