After yesterday's poor performance decided, I would need to add more climbing into my rides. I was waiting for some leg strength to return and the weight to drop. Weight is slowly going down and strength is increasing but much slower than I hoped. By the time I got ready to ride today the wind was blowing hard and the temperature was in the mid-nineties, so my body convinced me that today wouldn't be a good day to add more climbing. Opted for a mid-length flat ride to Eldridge Park. Pushed a headwind again up the valley and didn't produce any good numbers on the first ten miles of upgrade. Speed was even lower than normal. Once to Pine Valley the road flattens out and was able to get the speed up a little. The park today was open with a few rides going including the famous carousel. Was a bit disappointed to see so few people attending. Sat on a bench for a bit then headed home. Tailwind didn't help much in the city but was much appreciated as I headed back down the valley. Felt poorly most of the ride and only did enough work to get a fifteen average in. Not a bad ride but a fairly boring burn some calories jaunt.
