 need more time
a short ride -typical of late;

Moving another ton of wood from the collapsed hillside Box elder tree does not leave much time for biking.

Additionally, The Fig trees in the "Gro-shed" needed pruning. The gro-shed needed a good clean out. I trimmed the Miniature roses and cut a bouquet for Ginny. I'll be planting the Cucumber seedling in there soon... The yard work is proceeding!

I need to repair the clothes line setup (damaged by the Box elder last weekend).

Need more hours to attend to bike repair/modifications/maintenance work!

A Schrader-vs-Presta observation:

I want to drill out the wheel valve stem holes on some wheels for my Dahon Cadenza in order to accommodate Schrader valves.

Schrader valves are more durable -of course! Additionally, It's easier to install a "leak stop goop in Schrader tubes.

In consideration:
  • Removable core Presta valve tubes cost more and are rare to find.
  • Presta valve stems are less durable than Schrader
  • Schrader valves can accommodate inserting "leak stop goop" easier
  • Schrader tubes are more available for the 26 inch wheel.

    Overall, Schrader valve tubes are more cost effective for commuter biking...
