The south wind has continued to blow in some excellent March riding weather, but all good things must come to an end and today as it looks like the end of the warm weather streak. The wind was only blowing about half its normal speed and though it would be a nice day for a long ride. Unfortunately, my legs weren't up to it as was feeling a bit weak. Opted to avoid any steep climbing and headed out on a reverse Sullivinville course. Pretty much a twenty-mile-long grade mainly between one and two percent and then another eleven miles of downgrade with a pair of fast descents. Ride never really developed as my heart wasn't in it. Couldn't get my heart rate to climb out of the warm-up easy range even though I was struggling. Wasn't bad riding in the sunshine but body seemed very depressed. Just cranked out the miles and finally got to the downhill sections and thought things would be looking up. Wasn't the case though as I had been sitting so heavy in the saddle that my backside was feeling some distress. Ended up spending a bit of time out of the saddle to alleviate the issue. Wasn't a very productive ride, but it might be a long time before another pleasant weather riding day comes along.
