Came down with another bout of the flu that kept me off the bike for three days. Wasn't too bad though as two of the days were rainy and on the plus side my calf muscle has recovered. Still didn't feel well but was hoping that that the flu version is the three day versus the three week version. Headed up the valley towards Millport as really didn't feel much like climbing and thought that I'd take it easy for a couple of miles and see how much damage was done. Wind was blowing hard out of the south causing some difficulties so opted to try a hill to get out of the wind a bit. Climbed Burch Hill in Millport and then headed down to Horseheads via Middle Road. It still was a little windy but at least it wasn't funneled through the valley. Time to the turn around was less than impressive, but I put enough effort into the tailwind assisted run back down the valley to get the average up to fifteen. Flu has definitely affected my performance level but need to stay on the bike as more than three days off in a row is also detrimental.
