 Recovery Ride
Had to wait for the showers to pass before getting today's short easy ride in. Didn't want to do too much work as have a race pace training session on the computrainer tomorrow morning. Plan was to ride into the wind and do a quick easy climb up Burch Hill and catch the tailwind home. Legs felt great and was making good time to Millport, and I began to suspect that the weather forecast had the wind one eighty degrees off. I was into Millport before I saw a flag and was able to confirm that I did in fact have a tailwind. Had a smooth climb up Burch Hill and kept a good pace over the rollers to Horseheads. Made the turnaround in good shape and thought I could probably break eighteen if I put some effort in. Decided I'd rather have fresh legs in the morning so took it easy back down the slot. Ended up with an average two miles an hour over last time I did the course. Felt really good after the ride and computer told me the effort only rated a recovery ride. I was happy with that.
