 Sunny Easter
Too lazy this morning to get out before it got windy and so did some very easy climbing up Fitzgerald Hill. Back issues have kept me off the bike for a few days so kept it in the granny gear on the climb. Really enjoyed the slow climb as I basked in the warm sunshine. Kept the ride very short and cut down Burch Hill in Millport. Wind wasn't bad for most of the climb and really only felt its wrath after I crested Millport hill. Did see too other riders out of Watkins doing the same course in the opposite direction. I chose the easier direction and caught the massive tailwind after the descent down Burch. Back nine was fairly intense with the tailwind and pedaled easily in the high twenties. Occasionally the wind would shift enough that I would get short section of headwind as I weaved through the valley down SR 14. Pedaled slowly around town after the ride which really killed the average speed but increased the enjoyment. Best parts of the ride were the slow sections where I soaked up the sun. Back was uncooperative a couple of sections of climb but overall appears to be road worthy again.
