Had a long drive home from Williamsburg, VA today and stopped in Jersey Shore, PA to break up the drive and get some miles in. Decided to do a short section of the Pine Creek Rail to Trail. I had done a section of the northern part of the trail starting at Wellsboro last summer and thought I would get in a section of the southern part today. The trail is sixty one miles of crushed stone running through the Grand Canyon of PA. Like the trail better at this end then the northern section. A river runs along one side of the trail and steep cliffs on the other. The surface was easy to ride on with my road bike as it was dry. Didn't see too many out on the trail today but it was late afternoon and on a weekday. Legs were heavy and spirit was a bit low but the trail was enjoyable. The trail crossed the river and three great steel bridges on the fifteen mile section I was on. Got as far as Jersey Mills and turned back. Still have to come back and finish off the center section sometime soon. Very scenic ride ride in the shade.
