Taking another look at my mileage goal and comparing my YTD mileage with past years, gives pause to reassess.
My March 21st YTD effort is 5th worst out of the past 6 years;
2011 YTD: 192 (L-TKR 11.15.10, R-TKR 02.07.11)
2010 YTD: 1076
2009 YTD: 883
2008 YTD: 556
2007 YTD: 428
2006 YTD: 165
Total miles each year;
2006: 3789
2007: 5185
2008: 6342
2009: 6340
2010: 4762 (L-TKR Nov 15th)
So, I am ahead of 2006 YTD totals and behind all other YTD totals since then. Of all years, I am closest to 2007's YTD total. Only 236 miles behind 2007's effort through March 21st.
Repeating 2007's total mileage goal would be more realistic than the 6300 miles I originally hoped to attain. So I am resetting my goal to 5200 miles.
Another consideration is the fact that now I can walk again. I plan to walk daily, and the time spent walking will effect the time spent cycling...
Six weeks into the Right TKR rehab:
I've been having some pain and swelling in my right leg for the past week. And in one particular spot, some burning/throbbing too. It could be strain from over stimulation but the discomfort is only pronounced when sitting or lying down. Icing and popping Aspirin when needed.
