Took a long slow ride today that turned out to be not so slow once the legs got turning. Legs didn't feel like cement as they did on yesterday's ride, but they were definitely flat at least for the first ten miles of upgrade and slight headwind. The first twenty five miles was gradual up hill on SR 14 through Elmira and to the PA line. Course flattens out in Elmira but then one has to deal with a myriad of traffic lights. Lucked out today with the lights and only had to stop one or two times. Didn't get waylaid this year bypassing the section of SR 14 through Elmira that restricts bicycles. A couple of small climbs are located just before the PA line and provided a little relief from the grind. Turned in Fascett, PA onto the Roaring Run climb. Legs worked well today on the four to five mile climb and had a good time. Crested the hill at Bird Creek Rd in good shape and pretty much had another thirty miles of downhill and tailwinds ahead of me. Kept a good clip going back to Elmira but had more stoppages with the lights than earlier in the day. The sky started spitting raindrops coming back on SR14, but it wasn't enough to get me wet nor dampen a really good day on the bike.
