Took yesterday off as body was pretty torn up after three days of hard riding. It was fairly windy again today and decided to spend more time in the hills instead of on the open roads. Did two steep climbs today and one lesser climb. Started off with up Mill St past the cemetery. Stayed in the saddle and spun as the quads are still rather tender. Legs loosened up soon after the first climb and toured out to the second climb up Catlin Hill Rd. The climb is a nasty one that has a couple of steep steps. Didn't do much on this climb but survived it with a minimum of suffering. Once I got to the top of the climb, I found that the Chambers Rd was closed for construction. Had thought about descending into Horseheads and catching the tailwind home but opted to head north and cross Sugar Hill. Caught a tailwind from Beaver Dams to Townsend and started up the climb. I was rewarded for the climb by passing under a blimp that was flying around the racetrack. Descended back into Reading Center on via Cross Road. Had to make a couple of short detours as the county is busy chip sealing the back roads. I try to avoid fresh tar and sharp stones whenever possible. Had quite a bit of elevation in the bank and enjoyed coasting the long descents home. Had a nice ride but still not feeling very energetic.
