Wind was still blowing from the north but the sun was winning the day and it was fairly nice out for a change. Got the road bike out and did a long climb. Went up Jackson Hill then Ridge Road. Wasn't sure whether I would have any strength back in the legs yet but with a Metric coming up this weekend thought I had better give them a try. Didn't put much pressure on the pedals and tried to stay relaxed and had a fair result to Catherine. Did much better on the second half of the climb to Seymourville as was helped along by the thirteen mile an hour tail wind. Crested with a pretty good time but that is comparing to normally climbing into the wind. Downhill was a blast as got the speed up into the mid thirties and sailed along until Horseheads. Thought I would have a good overall average as figured I could make good time on the downgrade home despite the wind. Didn't work out as well as I hoped as couldn't beat the wind. Would get some speed built up and then a gust would hit me and knock me backwards. Still a good day on the bike even with running out of juice over the last couple of miles.
