Thought I would do some more climbing today and see if I would have good legs two days in a row. Unfortunately the streak of light wind days ended yesterday afternoon as the north wind returned blowing hard. Went out fairly early since it was warm to avoid as much of the wind as it was to increase as throughout the day. Went out to do the ride to Wayne. First ten miles was either headwind or climbing or both. Climb up Mud Lake is a good six miles for twelve hundred feet. Struggled on the climb but I think it was the headwind more than the grades. Finally got to the top and was looking forward to a fifty mile an hour plus descent down Sebring Hill but was disappointed as the wind was holding me back and kept my speed in the mid forties. Got a little relief when I started heading along Waneta lake as there were sufficient trees to give me shelter. Climbing out from the lake put me back in the wind again until I finally turned out of it in Dundee. Climbed well out of the saddle on the steeper secondary climbs of the day but that pretty much did my legs in. After the climb out of Dundee to Lakemont practiced my coasting skills most of the way back to Watkins. So ended up with fifteen miles of tailwind to finish off the ride. Enjoyed the climbs today but not the wind.
