 More Climbing
Climbing legs felt good yesterday and thought I would give the first seven mile climb on the Wayne Ride the old college try and give the legs a good workout. Did really well on the first section to the tracks but then the heat sucked all the power from my legs. Still was able to keep a steady effort over the last five miles of the climb but all attempts at making an hard effort were abandoned. Had a good descent down Sebring Hill hitting the low fifties. After that it was just spin to the three or four minor climbs and roll over them easily. Legs were still strong enough to climb effectively just not aggressively. Last few miles back from Glenora in the headwind were most unfun, though the downhill to Watkins with the new road surface was a blast. Most of the ride was decent. The oppressive heat just took the edge off my efforts. Still much, much better than riding in a cold rain.
