 Swartwood Backwards
Opted for another easy day on the bike by catching a tailwind to Horseheads on SR 14 then heading out to Erin and up the backside of Swartwood Hill. Route pretty much avoids any climbs with just twenty five miles of long grade to the top of the downhill with a couple of short kickers near the top. Nothing even near steep on today's ride. Pavement is still ongoing on most of road around Erin. Except for Erin which still has a milled surface both sides have a basecoat, and my lane has the top coat. Would have had a fast decent down Swartwood on the new smooth surface, but they are currently paving up the hill in the opposite lane so had to stop halfway down. Fun was over after the downhill when I had to push a headwind through the rollers back to Odessa on SR 224. Wind wasn't too bad really, but with my tiered legs it shut me down. Ended up struggling along counting off the miles to the top of the final descent. Ride started out fine but ended up not so nice.
