Comments: A scenic ride to and from the post office in Spencerport. On this Independence Day scenic ride to and from the post office in Spencerport, I discovered a method that changes the assist from the standard cadence/torque combination to cadence only. While pedaling in ECO, I pressed and held the minus (-) Button. A "C" appeared to the left of the voltage readout. The sensation was distinctive and reminiscent of riding a version of my first e-bike. My first e-bike was the 2014 EG Zurich 350 IX. The 750 watt rear hub on CCX is much more powerful than was Zurich's 350-watt front hub motor. |

Comments: The Corp of Codgers touring on Juiced CCX e-Bikes
A Corp of Codgers e-bike ride with Robert Davis and Robert Hammond. We passed at least 2 home farm stands and 4 Farm Markets. The garlic stand and Sara's Farm Market on East Avenue on the way into Brockport, Kirby's (where we waited out a brief downpour), Partyka's where I gave a quick spiel about their unique Pumpkin seeds, and Brightly's where Judy Hammond works. I bought a round of lemonade at Brightly's. We passed a couple of Ice cream stands along the way, too!

Comments: 8:25 AM on Sunday, July 11, 2021 Parma, New York Morning "non" e-bike Ride Stopping Twin Auto to see some pricing on vans, then a look at Ricci's, a new Italian Deli that is having a soft opening (Tues-Fri 10a-2p), and then I stopped to pick up a 1992 Quarter near the Plantation Party House. Biking with a "non" e-bike is a bit slower overall speed.

Comments: I averaged 18.5 mph getting to Al's place in Churchville. On the return, my speed average was 22+mph. It's the same assist level with an elevation difference. Comments: An e-bike ride with Bob Davis, along the roads and towpath from Brockport to Medina.
A segment of the ride was not GPS recorded -due to an inadvertent pause tracking at Eagle Harbor... That segment of the ride continued along the towpath, subsequently tracking was reactivated at the Medina Aqueduct. The total untracked GPS mileage is 7.24 miles in 29 minutes (est). The total moving time was approximately 3:24 with an average speed of 15.6 mph

Comments: All rides are beneficial! I think it is essential to designate whether cycling is on an e-bike or not. An e-bike effort is very cadence orientated without needing too many gearing changes to compensate for elevation or winds. It is possible to simulate a non-e-bike "flat-land" effort on an e-bike. The big difference is a faster speed average with the sensation of flattening out the road ahead.

We biked through some old haunts -mostly mine from pre-adolescent and early adolescent years and beyond.
We biked past an old fishing spot where Uncle Nick used to teach me down at "Bay View." We passed Bob H's Grandparent's house and Bob D's old house on Woodstock St. We stopped at my Mother in law's house, then passed my old house on Cedarwood Ter. We were on Wahl Rd. where I grew up, and Pardee road hill and Case's Farm. We went past Eastridge High School and stopped at Carl T's house. I recalled memories of youth and adventure along the way. |

Comments: Lunch Ride w/Tom Anderson Tom stopped by, and we decided to ride non-e-bikes. It was my first bike ride this month. The weather was cool breezy, with a spritz of intermittent rain. Upon arriving in Brockport, the rain increased to steady for a short time then stopped. The ride back home was on the roadway to avoid towpath puddles. |
