It was a decent day for riding except of course for the wind that was in the teens again. I had decided to re-equip my 2003 mountain bike since I could no longer get it to shift properly and braking was getting less and less effective despite changing pads. I tried to buy some used equipment by bidding on line, but that didn't work as planned. Ended up buying new pieces though only updating from a nine to a ten speed. Unfortunately one of the pieces required me to be at home to sign for it. Delivery window was narrowed down to by end of day at 9 PM. Spent most of day waiting and finally gave up by five. Decided to get my ride in without going far from home. Did a two mile lap that passes by my street so that I would have a chance of catching sight of the delivery as I passed by on the course It has one short eight percent grade that I ended up doing seven times. Legs felt good and each lap got faster than the last. Rode for an hour before packing it in. Delivery didn't show up at all and was a little miffed having missed a fair riding day while the forecast shows heavy rain moving in for the next few days,
