 Hilly Day
Pretty nice day again except for the wind. Legs felt good and so went out for three climbs. Started up Havana and stayed out of the saddle for a good part of the steep sections and turned in a decent time with a seven five average. Much better than last time but still have much work to do, The next twelve miles was the low point of the ride as had to push through the headwind again to get to the second climb. Again I felt much better that the last time I did this course and though I didn't really suffer, it was more disappointment that I cant develop any speed these days in the wind. Once I got to the foot of Swartwood hill the ride got quite pleasant. Had good leg speed up the climb and though didn't set any records I got over the top still feeling fresh. It was very encouraging to see all the snow and ice up the climb has gone. Had decent speed downhill to Horseheads despite the wind, The wind wasn't gusting today and seemed to be more of a crosswind than headwind. Third climb was up Ridge road which used to be one of my favorite climbs back in the day. Nothing fancy today just a good spin and kept pressure on the pedals. Last six miles is mostly fast downhill. Tried to get the average up to sixteen by the finish but failed. It was fun trying though. Another good day on the bike.
